Matte replaces the standard gloss laminate with a flat one. No reflections, no glare in photos or video, and light scuffing is far less visible than on a gloss kit — which is why enduro riders tend to choose it.

The trade-off is depth: gloss makes colours look richer, matte softens them slightly. On dark and monochrome designs matte usually wins; on bright factory liveries, gloss usually does.
